JESSICURL VS DEVACURL-- Meeting Jessica McQuinty

Jessica McGuinty of Jessicurl and me
Jessica McGuinty is clearly the most down-to-earth, honest and intelligent person I've met in the beauty industry. Her laughter is infectious and her lively spirit is a delight to be around. In the hour I spent with her, we spoke of her life and benefits of her product line, Jessicurl

I had been trying her products on my clients with the samples she gave me. I loved the no-fragrance line. It still had a faint odor but of clay or of good-smelling Chinese herbs. She said it was the infused herbal tea that was added to the product. There are two other fragrances; Island Fantasy and Citrus Lavender. The Citrus Lavender was also high on my list. Everything is carefully made in small batches up in Humbolt County, California. The company itself is very small consisting of about 6 people.

What's wonderful about her products is the fact that you ARE getting a clean product. No hidden anything. Therefore the hair shaft has no build-up what so ever.

JESSICURL BENEFITS:

  • No build-up
  • Hair that has more spring/bounce
  • Hair that has more shine
  • Hair that has less frizz
  • Touchable hair

DEVACURL BENEFITS:

  • Because of specific ingredients, holds curl shape well
  • Holds up in windy situations
  • Extensive product line with varying viscosities
  • Product line versatility & creativity

CONCLUSION:

These two lines are interchangeable. I prefer to alternate on clients or myself depending on the need. If your hair is not reacting normally on DevaCurl, consider switching to Jessicurl for awhile because of its clarity.  If you are allergic to wheat germ or specific botanicals like peppermint added to some DevaCurl products, try Jessicurl. If you do not like the fragrances of DevaCurl/Care, try the no-fragrance line of Jessicurl. However, if you want a line with many options to explore and a little more holding power, try DevaCurl.
